Larkspur "New Zealand Giant Lime".
New Zealand giants are recognized world trendsetters in delphinium breeding. Exceptional decorative qualities, winter hardiness, durability and unpretentiousness have made these varieties the most desirable acquisition for many professionals and amateur gardeners.
Plants are tall, more than 2 m, with strong healthy peduncles, but still need support.
Unusually large double flowers, striking the imagination with an exquisite play of white and light green shades, are collected in a dense, literally packed inflorescence...
The first flowering occurs in the second year after sowing, in June-July. Repeated - in August.
Delphiniums prefer sunny, wind-protected areas with fertile neutral soils and good drainage (does not tolerate waterlogging).
Seeds are germinated, lightly sprinkled with soil (preferably sterile). To obtain friendly shoots, it is recommended to pre-keep the crops in the refrigerator for a week. Crops are protected from drafts and watered with caution (from a spray bottle). Shoots appear at a temperature not exceeding +15°C in 10-15 days.
Strengthened plants are planted in open ground in the spring, after the end of frosts, at a distance of 0.5-1.0 m.
It is undesirable to plant plants close to high walls without support, since strong winds can break the stems.
New Zealand giants are frost-resistant, they tolerate even severe winters without shelter.
